Dear Fellow Grads of Class of ‘69,
As a number of you know, Bishop Diego Garcia High is celebrating its 50th year anniversary this school year. From its early roots at Catholic High to the present, the school has provided a great educational foundation for all of us as we have moved on to various avenues of our lives. And it continues to do so for succeeding generations of Bishop families. Those of you that have seen the campus recently have witnessed a number of improvements with a newly landscaped interior courtyard, a new practice gym, a new computer lab and other enhancements that add to the quality of the Bishop experience. Recently, the school announced plans to completely remodel the existing science wing. This $1.2 million dollar project will expand the schools capability to train and prepare students for 21st century solutions in the fields of (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Construction is slated to start in the summer of 2010, during the summer break when students are not in class. You can view this project, as well as others on the schools website under campus projects. www.bishopdiego.org
In view of the 50 year anniversary of Bishop and our 40 year anniversary as a class, this would be a great opportunity for all of us to provide a lasting gift to the school. A gift designated for the Science Wing Renovation Project would enhance Bishop High’s ability to provide a first rate education in the science field, complementing the solid curriculum the school provides. Bishop helped formulate our teen years and this is an opportunity for us to lend our support to continue a great tradition and experience for Bishop students. Our donation would be recognized in the form of a plaque and displayed accordingly in the new wing for all to see and be proud of.
Our class fundraising goal is $5,000 and if each of us gave $50, we could easily reach that number. We hope you will contribute to this great cause. This is for Bishop and this will be our legacy. If you plan to send in a check please note on the check “Science Wing project-Class of ‘69. Specific questions regarding the project can be directed to Lori Willis, Director of Advancement (805) 967-1266, ext 119 or Stacey Carr, Alumni Director ext 105.
Thank you for your support.
