Dear Bishop High Families,

First, I want to thank you for choosing Bishop as the high school that will ready your child for college and for life. You have made a wise investment in your child's future.  I say investment because I understand that choosing to send your child to a school that charges tuition does mean you have to make choices to make this happen.  When I use the word "investment" I also mean the choice to send your child to Bishop will reveal itself as well worth your efforts.

Juggling sports practices and games and Edline and packing lunches and meeting dress codes and buying prom gowns and planning for college can be a blur. As a parent with two daughters (the last of which is finally graduating with a teaching credential and a master degree this June)... I assure you, the blizzard will clear! 

One day when they are mid-college you'll hear them talking about "high school" as if it was 10 years ago. They'll start relaying their memories of friendships and football games won, the teachers who hovered until skills were perfected (and maybe even a few escapades - much like the ones your parents never learned of). They may not outright thank you for sending them to a college-prep high school that required tuition and the choices that prompted. You will most likely see their "thank you, to you" in who they become and their attitude about what they can accomplish. That is afterall, the best thank you and pay-off there is.

So parents, thank you for sending your students to Bishop. Continue to think in terms of "investment",trust me. From those of us who work at Bishop High, please know we appreciate you, all you do, and in particular that you have entrusted your child's education to this school.  We are trying to make Bishop Garcia Diego High School the best it can be for them. Towards that effort we continue to appreciate any contribution or donation you can provide the school as we continue to meet the needs of construction, and upgrades and technology and renovation.  We are all in this together, all doing this to make the school a better place.
